Part A: Describe how the French Revolution was a consequence of the social and cultural changes that took place in France and Europe in the 18th century. Why was France in particular impacted by these changes? How did the Revolution fulfill the ambitions of Enlightenment thinkers? How did it go astray?
Part B:
1) Discuss how the French Revolution evolved from a moderate reform movement to a radical transformation of French society. How did the Terror come about?
2) The French Revolution ushered in the modern era not just in France, but throughout Europe. Discuss how the Revolution caused a drastic rupture with the Old Regime throughout Europe.

So in these essays are we supposed to add a lot of the readings in like with the midterm? Or is it based more on the quality of our answer with some support from the text
ReplyDeleteThe primary sources are kind of important to answering these questions but I think that it could go either way depending on how you choose to answer them. For example, in the discussion of the Terror, the primary sources could really just support your answer but in the original question discussing the Enlightenment, it's really hard to answer it without using the stuff we read.
